When was Ski created?
Ski was formulated in 1956 by combining the natural flavorings of lemons and oranges to create a citrus soft drink. Ski was the first all-natural citrus carbonated beverage of its kind. To this day, Ski remains true to its original ingredients: real fruit juices.

Where did the name "Ski" come from?
Some Ski theorists speculate the name came from shortened versions of the beverages, "whiskey" or "brewski," but these ideas simply are not true. When Ski was formulated in 1956, Double-Cola management asked employees to come up with a name for the beverage.  Inspired by a weekend-long ski trip on the Chickamauga Lake, then-employee Dot Myers submitted the names “Ski” and “Skee” into the contest.  Management liked the name and it’s been Ski ever since...and the name couldn’t be more fitting.

Where did Ski originate?
Despite popular beliefs, Ski was created in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Many loyal Ski enthusiasts believe that the drink was created in Breese, Illinois or Greensburg, Kentucky, but these are simply locations of two long time Ski bottlers in historic Ski areas.

What does the production code mean? Where do I find the production code on the product?
The production code identifies where and when each product was produced. Your local bottler determines the format for the production code.  If you would like assistance reading the production code, please call our toll-free phone number 1-877-DBL-COLA.

While the format and location of the production code differs for each bottler, you can usually locate the code without much difficulty.  The production code on cans is usually located on the bottom of the can.  This information also appears on the outside end of fridge packs. On bottles the production code is usually found on the cap and/or the neck of the bottle.
